Hey UG,

Today I got an offer for *Guitar Player* Magazine.

Its supposedly $12.00 for one year
and
just $20.00 for two years.

They even said these are the prices with shipping included.
All promo items such as instructional dvds and cds are
going to be there just as the book store issue.

This just sounds too good to be true.

Has anyone accepted this offer and not gotten any surprises when
the bill showed up?

Look for any contract or stuff, otherwise just subscribe.

If they do charge more, demand a lifetime subscription or sue.

well, when i shelled out 20$ for "Guitar World" last year (yes, i know it's not the same magazine), i only got the magazine, no CD.

i'm not sure how GP would do it. for about the same price of two magazines, it's worth a try. and if one of the issues that you really like, go to the corner store and buy another copy with the cd in it.

Guitar Player does not do Promo CDs or Booklets that I know if. I think I paid $26 for three years or something. Best deal ever getting a year of Premier Guitar free through the Taylor Roadshow...

I bought a 2 year subscription to Guitar World for $9 without the CDs. Best $9 spent ever

Guitar Player is awesome. They don't have CDs or anything though. You might be thinking of Guitar World.

I got a question about guitar player mag and this came up on the search bar so here we go.. So last year I got a 1 year subscription for xmas so it ran out after this years holidy issue. The thing is, they didnt send me he decmber issue (I emailed them three times since and they keep telling me they sent it but I havent seen it yet) and I dont know if this years subscription has started so Im just wondering how many issues Ive missed? Is there a January issue or is the holiday one a substitute for it? So I have the holiday and Im missing the december and how many others? Thanks in advance for the help!

lol, wow

I clicked on this topic by accident, read the top part of it

"All promo items such as instructional dvds and cds are
going to be there just as the book store issue."

And was going to say "wtf, GP doesn't have discs or anything"

And then realized I said it four months ago

anyway, yes, you are. the january issue was david gilmour... and the february issue was metallica and I got that about a week ago.

I wish that Guitar Techniques did things like this. There series on cerebral jazz was great, as is Shaun Baxters Creative Rock section. They also transcribe some amazing stuff, like Shaun Lane's Get You Back. You don't see that kind of stuff in magazines often. I just don't feel like shelling out $15 bucks an issue...
