Hey
Im running windows vista ultimate and windows defender keeps coming up saying do you want to remove this file, severe risk. the file is a Trojan. I click remove all. does this actually get rid of the virus?
I really dont want to have to take my computer to a pro to get a virus removed.

Help please?

Maybe. Maybe not. Stop downloading porn and start streaming like the big boys.

...modes and scales are still useless.

1. Download better security programs (AVG, Zone Alarm, Ad-aware)
2. Install
3. Deactivate Windows Defender
4. Happier computing Experience

Depends.

Some viruses/trojans get reinstalled when they get deleted, by another file in your pc. Or they just copy themselves.

Just update your windows defender or get another antivirus or antispyware

get eset nod32 antivirus, and comodo firewall pro.

eset is like 30 bucks, comodo is free

eset is hands down the best antivirus out there, in my experience. and comodo is wayyy better than zone alarm for firewalls

You don't need to disable Windows Defender to run another AV.

Also, all of those AV's lick Avast's nutsack.

eset and avast are in my opinion neck and neck. I like eset better because of the simplicity, then you can kick in the advanced settings if you want.

And windows defender isn't an AV, it's just a spyware/adaware blocker/remover? isn't it?

I actually don't know what exactly WD does, but it hasn't caused any problems. But that may be because Avast takes care of everything first.

NOD32 is good, but Avast is free.
