I've been looking for a new guitar for awhile and nothing has been satisfactory. I want:

A high quality guitar, $800-$1500 range, versatile and good with distortion on both pickups.
I'd prefer it be a flying V, but oh well, whatever. I like playing Metallica but commonly blues and mellow, calmer music so I want a guitar that can do all , but kind of has a lean towards metal and harder genres, or maybe just a guitar I can modify with pickup changes to make it what I want or something.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to begin ANOTHER search in a few local music stores this weekend, wish me luck :/
