I've been wanting to get a new guitar for some time now, but my musical tastes have shifted. I'm less into metal and more into a mixture of all types of music, and I just love how a strat looks and plays.

My question: would I be able to get decent metal tones out of a strat if I switch out a couple pups?

a fat strat? yes. Bridge humbucker will do rock/metal, especially if you change it

a normal SSS strat? yes but not as good. single coil sized humbuckers or stacked single coils will do the metal. and the neck and middle single coil should be able to handle other things.

Yeah. people, like Lemoninfluence, are hypocrites and should have all their opinions invalidated from here on out.

Thanks man. I went to GC the other day and fell in love with a strat, and the Ibanez guitars that I tried just don't feel right in my hand.

Anyway, thanks for the help

could get some EMG single coils or even Seymour Duncan Blackout singles. I think they should do the trick
