It's pretty hard.

Im sorry, I just don't see how you could argue that hardcore isn't metal. That just seems arrogant to me.

Yes, its its own kind of metal, but its still metal.
Lol Dee is real hard

Another thing you could try is arranging some of your favorite songs for fingerstyle acoustic. I used to transcribe rock songs to fingerstyle guitar, using percussive slaps and fingerstyle to give an impression of all the parts at once! Great fun to do
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Clarity - John Mayer
Your Body Is A Wonderland - John Mayer
Daughters - John Mayer
Besides being a guitar player, I'm a big fan of the guitar. I love that damn instrument. Steve Vai

Johnny Cash - Hurt (easy, but still a great version)

i recommend NIN's original over Johnny cashs version any day.
Working Class Hero - Lennon
Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Wish You Were Here - Floyd

Depending on what you mean by intermediate. I just pick up the guitar again after several years and internet tab has been a blessing. I found the Rain Song by Zeppelin easy once I got the right tuning but near impossible in standard tuning.

Good Luck
