I don't have my '65 Mustang Reissue yet...but I'm already dreaming about the mods I wanna make to it (once I get it!).

Here's what I want to do:

1) replace the bridge single coil pup with a Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucker with a straight route. Warmouth sells Mustang pickguards in this configuration, so I figure they probably know the correct location for the bridge pickup route in the body.

2) replace one of the stock pots with a push/pull pot so I can use the Dimarzio as a single coil. Dunno if this should be the volume or tone pot (probably the tone pot), and I dunno whether I need to get a 250K or a 500K pot for this (I'm guessing I need a 500K pot). Down = HB, Up = single coil.

3) I'd kinda like to keep the phase switches "as is". So they would work as they always have if the humbucker has been split.

I'm handy enough with shop tools and a soldering iron, but I haven't got a clue about how to wire up all of this. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I spent a lot of time earlier looking at the seemingly endless wiring diagrams on the SD webiste. The trouble is: the config I want can only be pieced together from several diagrams.

I can find the phase in/off/out diagrams for 2 single coils, and I can find diagrams for hb + single coil with a push/pull pot, but I need the intersection of the two.

Essentially, I need the Kurt Cobain configuration along with a coil splitter for the bridge pup.
