Anyone have pics of natural finished, plain Maple tops on any kind of guitar?

I've seen them on burst-finished Les Pauls and I think I'm starting to prefer the simplicity of plain maple.

Some pieces have really nice graining and for the contrast I'm trying to achieve, I think plain and simple Maple may be a winner.

Oh, in terms of price, would the cost of materials be less from flame maple to plain maple?

Very nice indeed...

Definitely better for the look I want. If it ends up being cheaper, even better.

Why don't you like figured woods? I don't think i've ever known anyone to prefer normal rock maple instead of figured maple.

Heres some links to pics of figured maple guitars....

Plain maple shouldn't cost to much, you may be able to get maple body blanks or just maple blocks of wood and use a thickness planer or a bandsaw to thin out the maple.

EDIT: Ahhh, I missed out, i guess i took to long finding pics ha

^ He said he wants to know the price of a piece of plain maple... wow.

Anyways, your first stop should be a local lumber mill, if you have one. They can probably hook you up.

And yes, regular maple should cost less than figured maple.

Don't get me wrong I love figured woods.

But in planning out a custom, I think I'd prefer the simple and understated look of plain maple. It kind of goes along with the rest of the specs which dictate a guitar that is nothing more than functional. The appearance should do the same.

Not necessarily the price but the general difference in cost.

Well if you know the price I'm pretty sure you can figure out the difference. Anyway, I think TS got what he wanted.
