Not possible.

1. By paying over time, you will end up paying another 20-40% in interest.
2. Are you gigging?
3. What kind of rock?
4. Per your planned payments, or in total? Do you have it all now, or is the point that you don't?
#5
150w Combo? please. That amp doesn't exist.
The only 120W amp in that price range is a Behringer. and you don't want that.

I have a 120 watt Line 6 spider III combo, and there was a 150 watt at the store where I got it, so they do exist. HOWEVER, it is a piece of ass with the tone of my fart during a diarrhea preceded by unbearable cramps. So don't get it.

from what i read, 100w amps take higher volume better,i plan on playing in a huge school auditorium where they depend solely on the shit that you bring. its a toughie, because of my budget.

i am willing to shape up to 360 USD at most.

I know the 150W combo exists. I think it's exorbitant and don't understand, especially considering that most 150W combos are SS and crap. Case in point, Spider.

I mean that a good 100-120w amp doesn't exist in that pricerange.

Tube is perceived as louder than solid state per w. It's not the volume that's higher, it's the waves just carry better in large settings. Plus you could get a better amp for that price, you don't want a Spider.

aha, that sounds like a terrible idea.
the reason i dont go into guitar stores and try shit is because it feel so awkward after playing such shitty gear for a year and a half.

it would be HELL if i not only had to get used to a friends sound, but use it to my playing advantage.

the show is in 3 months, giving me plenty of time to get used to new gear.
if i can find some new gear. hence the threads.
Digital Distribution sucks.

Can't you make more money in that time? Get a job, maybe?

how many times do i have to recommend people get a crate v-series?!?!?! they're freaking cheap as dirt right now, and for the price, can't really be topped. honestly, read some of the other "which amp" threads, and they will tell you everything you need to know. either way, get this:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Crate-V-Series-V50112-50W-1x12-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=487054

you'll be more than happy, and it will blow away any spider or MG or frontman or ss crate out of the water, and if you really need more gain (i think they have plenty) buy a bad monkey and you're still under $300

the crate v-series is NOT the end-all be-all of amplifiers, and i don't get why people think it is. just because it's cheap? chances are that he won't get that amp for a long time. it's on closeout, and they're selling like hot cakes. its good for blues, but there are better choices for rock.

Guess I'll try to make my own topic so I don't hijack this guy's.

But anyway, I put that up cause I saw a couple people say that type is pretty good.

This thread is great. dan and theo, ya tried, valiant efforts. OK, auditorium stuff, rock etc, budget is good enough for the US... But... You gotta save cash and give up the payment stuff. Once you save up $250-400...

1) Pick up phone and make appts with the following types of ads.
2) http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/msg/862558718.html
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/858813738.html
http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/msg/864434760.html
3). Get in car and go try amps in NY. Scranton craigslist sux at the moment.

But you may get lucky in Scranton if you're patient and something pops.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.
