Is it weird that i would much rather play through my Crate head than my friends Marshall JVM410?
#3
not weird at all. play what you got / prefer...

The JVM is hard to dial in, especially for a Marshall.
...that, or you just don't like it. It's certainly not their best amp ever.
#5
I can't say I really like the JVM.

But then again any amp with more than 6 knobs bugs me
#6
Idk , it felt lifeless and muffled. I certainly couldn't get a good mid-rangey metal sound out of it. i think i oughta tell my friend to sell it and get something else. My friends amp head cost literally 9.5 times more than mine did.
Guitars
BC Rich Deluxe Series Warlock
Schecter Devil Custom

Amps
Crate GX900-h w/ GX412S cab

Effects
Boss NS-2
Dunlop Crybaby From Hell Wah
BBE Sonic Stomp
Korg Pitchblak

The JVMs are overpriced and overrated IMHO.

They are way to expensive, like the 2 grand you could spend one one, you could otherwise get a Splawn

No he should have his amp and guitar taken away, and he should be banned.

Someone that likes their tone, should we hang him from the nearest tree?

It's complete sarcasm. I'm just mirroring the treatment I got after announcing how I like my Ibanez TBX150.

ah, see, you're different. he's nicely asking if it's weird, and we're giving him a proper answer. You run around being pigheaded (sometimes) recommending your TBX and other SS amps when they shouldn't be recommended, or blindly shooting down other recommendations when you personally have no experience with a product.

Unless you can cite where I "shot[sic] down other recommendations," then your post means nothing to me.

Also for anyone not keeping score, I asked questions about the workings of a head/cabinet mixture, and received answers along the lines of:

"Your head sucks, toss it and get a tube!"

They were talking about your amp right?

JK, glad you like your amp.

for the sake of argument...

digitalbravo was probably fine because he has a SS head, however he has no business telling someone they will be fine with a instrument cable without know what kind of amp the person is running. and considering he is the one who started the argument, hes got no business thinking he is superior.

i just quoted that because that's the best example i can think of (in terms of a summary) where you argued and had no business doing so.

but anyway....i'm speaking in past tense. You haven't done that lately.

well, now we feel the same way about eachother.

Your head sucks, toss it and get a tube

That's a pretty pigheaded response, and you're right to be irritated by it in that context. Last time I checked, though, none of the people present in this thread made that remark. None of the people around here who give good advice said that. Don't lump them, they won't lump you.

Really, I'm not trying to be argumentative.
