Hey, my favourite guitarists are John frusciante, Slash, Hendrix and Mick Mars. I love artists with emphasis on soul, melody, tone. If anyone has some bands/artists they reccomend that they think i'd like, that'd be much appreciated. always excited to check out some new music.

Do some research - hunt round the internet for interviews and information about your heroes and see who they themselves were influenced by, you'll likely discover a few obscure artists.

hmm.. Yngwie malmsteen, if you can get past the fact that he usually plays way too fast.. can lay on the soul like a mother****er sometimes. you'd probably like at least a few of his songs
do you mostly like lead guitarists or rhythm guitarists?

Maybe Blindman by Whitesnake, very 'soulful'. I like that song.

Or maybe UFO, not exactly soulful, but Michael Schenker is like the father of improvising some cool rock stuff. Check out Strangers In The Night (the live album), it's class.
Cam Sampbell's my hero
