I thought I'd already started a thread about these maniacs! Anyway I'm sure everyone knows where I stand with this band: that is they are definitely up there in my top 5 thrash bands of all time!

5 guys from Vancouver raised on the likes of Motorhead, Venom and Iron Maiden making raw, pure, unadulterated thrash metal. Fuck image, fuck friendliness, fuck all other bands... this is their attitude. They made some of the most fast and ferocious music that was around at the time, it's deadly, vicious, headbanging thrash metal that shows exactly how it should be done and for sure stands the test of time. Doesn't sound dated a bit!

Discuss this awesome band!

O what a disgrace if such a despised and base race, which worships demons, should conquer a people which has the faith of omnipotent God and is made glorious with the name of Christ!

Oh, the almighty Witches Hammer, love this band, one of Canada's best metal bands ever alongside with Razor and Exciter
I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

Vancouver is in BC right?

you should also know Blasphemy, Procreation, Conqueror and Tyrant's Blood!

Yes, I live in Vancouver, BC. Well, actually, I live in a lesser-known small town next to it, but to anybody who isn't Canadian, "Vancouver" is easiest.
There is another Vancouver in the U.S. actually.

I apparently fail very hard at knowing any bands of my local metal scene. Didn't really know there was one.

They sound cool but the recording quality is pretty bad even by metal standards. Not that I'm a fan of overproduced metal but to me they'd sound better if they were better-produced.

The production is perfect.

Amazing band, I got Stretching Into Infinity a month or so ago although I didn't get around to listening to it until two weeks ago. They're probably my favorite (or second favorite) thrash band of all time.

It didn't seem possible, but apparently Messiah can spam even more now.

misanthropy BC is known for having a good black metal scene (probably some of the most extreme BM in the world) with names such as Revenge, Conqueror, Morbid Darkness, Blasphemy etc. you should make an effort to get into it, then again, it might not be your cup of tea at all

anyway im glad to see that everyone loves Witches Hammer! i love em!

So i finally got this album, as opposed to only being able to listen to it when Messiah put it on, and it's damn good. great, in fact. that being said, i don't think that it can match Morbid Saint. it's currently tied with Demolition Hammer for my second favorite thrash band, though.

EDIT: i love the bass work, great stuff.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

**** yeah. Glad to see Vancouver bands getting some attention from here. (Im from Vancouver,) Saw some Witches Hammer vinyl at a local shop but was flat broke at the time
Blindfold her telling her that she is going to get a surprise, then proceed to take off your pants and stick your penis in her nostrils.

in my opinion, Morbid Saint is pretty much the perfect thrash band. they have every element of thrash that i like in spades and i can't find a single flaw on Spectrum of Death.

Witches Hammer rape Demolition Hammer and they're a bit better than Morbid Saint. While Demolition Hammer are good and brutal, they're just not nearly as dark as Witches Hammer and Morbid Saint... and Massacra. If you read this post listen to Massacra.

Indeed, and Demolition Hammer released a shitty groove metal record.

yeah, but Epidemic of Violence is great.

I agree. Even worthy of a >90 on metal-archives.

But, everyone knows that the Germans do it better. For me, the perfect thrash record is Possessed By Fire. Or Obsessed By Cruelty depending on my Satanic mood.

Spectrum of Death is the only album i could actually see myself giving a 100 to in a review. it's just perfect.

Usually I'll write a 100 review to give a higher score. Such as Sodom's Witching Metal demo, and Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East. Maybe that's why I have 0 points lol.
#33
how do you have ZERO points? i thought that you get a minimum of three per review...

Well, to be fair, I unknowingly added a false Nirvana 2002 (Swe) release, and got all my points erased. I only had 40 though. Nightgaunt is a nazi.

they removed ALL your points for that? why? that's stupid as hell.

Yeah, I don't care though, I'll never be able to get 500. I'm not that great at writing.
#37
i don't really care about the points. i just like writing reviews, although i haven't done so in months.

i know, i never said that mine got deleted or anything. i just don't particularly care about them, i just write for the fun of it.
