Use a DPDT....

Wire it like you have but get rid of that jumper wire on the switch. Your left with two open lugs now. One goes to either side of the clipping section.

Next time, use tiny pic or something. Better yet, use the tags (put the image url between them. to get the url, right click and click view image). And get rid of all that damn white around it.

just a dpdt toggle switch running to a pair of diodes mounted on stripboard in order to switch beetween diodes for different types of cliping. for example, silicon/germanium, germanium/Red L.E.D.s, whatever.
