Hey guys. For my history class, I have to bring in a few songs talking about past events. It's fairly broad requirement. I have already decided on Sleep Now In the Fire by RATM. Any other suggestions for songs?

Ohio-Neil Young.
Lots of hippy (For lack of a better word) stuff talks about the Vietnam War and whatnot also, you might try there.
If man is 5, if man is 5, if man is 5,
then the Devil is 6, then the Devil is 6, then the Devil is 6, the Devil is 6,
And if the Devil is 6,

then God is 7, then God is 7, then God is 7
This monkey's gone to heaven.

Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden

and Paschendale. Maybe The Trooper, it's a little more badass, although it only talks about war, not a specific historical event

The trooper, Run the the Hills, Aces High, etc.

its actually about the Battle of Balaclava, a very specific event; just not too well known really. I used it for a history thing i had last year.

The Trooper talks about the Crimean War, inspired by Tennyson's poem "charge of the light brigade" which i memorized in high school for english class.
A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."

Fort Minor - Kenji

The song is about a guy's father (I think his father) is in the Japanese concentration camp in World War II.

*WARNING: it is a rap song for all you rap-haters out there. It is a straight forward rap song though. No bullshit to distract you from the lyrics and it even includes interview with family members in the song. This song is made for pure listening.

I specially liked this verse
"They all said it would end the war,
And we thanked Christ for the bomb,
And the priests and witches all agreed,
They should die to keep them free."

It was about Deep Purples hotel burning down because someone shot a flare up during a Frank Zappa concert.

Songwise - Iron Maiden (Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Aces High, Powerslave, Ghengis Khan, etc.) and Amon Amarth (all of their songs are about viking battles. Shouldnt be hard to justify.)
