I want to get a decent USB or firewire mic just to do some multitracking and maybe some quick recording on my laptop. Can someone recommend something around $100 or under.

Ive got the snowball mic, its pretty good but keep the volumes low when recording as it distorts easily, also when i used it the drivers wouldnt work with things like cubase, so make sure it will work with what ever software you are using

Anyone know how the Blue would compare to this MXL http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/MXL-990USB-USB-Powered-Condenser-Microphone?sku=271009 ? I would mostly be doing acoustic/vocals but might try to get creative and throw in some electric and some djembe or other hand drums into the mix.
