I'm gonna get a new amp.
I have about 600 bucks.
I play mostly classic rock and funk.

Vox Custom Classic AC15CC1

which one should i go for ?
Any amp better than those ?

Gosh. Play them and decide for yourself. That's tough.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

I'd get the Classic 30 plus a new speaker. The AC15 wasn't that impressive.

And the Peavey should have more headroom for the funk. So +1 for that.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

It just doesn't have the AC30 sound

+1 on the C30. The stock speaker doesn't sound bad either. However, if you got the extra money later, don't disregard that as a good option for something new to buy to help improve tone.

AC15CC may sound better, but have much less headroom.

Thx alot guys. I might go for the C30/112.
i have only 600 bucks

C30 : 550$
I dont think i can get a good speaker in around 100$ .

I played an AC15 today, it should be priced about $250 less than it is. I didn't like it at all.

I'd go with the Peavey.

Try $300 used all the time. Can you search your local craigslist?

I wouldn't worry about the speaker so much. It's not that bad. I don't remember the cut off date for when they went to Marvells but still.

TS - find a used one. Seriously. Just because it is used does not mean it is beat to sh*t and no good. Usually, people that care about their tone are simply moving onward and upward and need to sell to fund their new GAS budget.

Shhh....
Terrible value for what it is.

If only it was handwired....

Also, TS, if you are looking at used amps, I suggest Crate Palominos, v's and Vintage Clubs.

Should i save up for it?

You could probably get it down another 20 dollars. So yes.

im assuming that by "funk" your mean red hot chili peppers, so i would go with classic 30. if by funk you mean 70s funk, like parliament and earth wind and fire, i would suggest a clean fender amp. and if you meant modern funk, like scofield, i would suggest an AC30 or a twin reverb, he uses both frequently.

Along with the Ac 30 and the classic 30 you should also check out the Delta Blues. They are all to loud for just bedroom use.
