Sepia roads and broken nights
Sell your safety to me?
Light never tasted so old
Outlet from the shore
Locked within a paper drawing
Waterfall nightime
Drowns like ignorance

Let me take you...
To fallen stars
Paled to forgotten thoughts
Told you so?
And erased again
And I'll cry myself to joy
For if I crash
Don't get up, in arms
Save me a glance
And never knowing?
Holds on without recognition

Paved with disappointment
I can't lose a game I've never played
And maybe if I close my eyes
She won't have lost
To never have loved?
Rush to false salvation
Thirteen and fold,
Risk is to my shattered self
Like trees to golden sounds
The eden gone
Replaced by things
Ever lusting?
After isolation

And maybe if I knew
I'd look for the answer
For all this wisdom?
That I don't posess
Is all just awful reflection
On that which cannot be told
And only the simple
Untainted know

But secrets to myself only make
You forget me quicker
And if you don't know what I'm talking about
Take off your golden glasses
And see the world like those
Who never know where they're being taken
They hope so, but freedom is their great enemy
Free to flail
Irony their mighty mace
And shielded with dry dirt
Or caged in rich man's petty wishes
The arena is empty except for one man,
Still driving and striving as fast as he can.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup,
But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns...
