Well I'm pretty much set on getting the Crate V18 from the price drop; upgrading from a Microcube. So when I do get the amp, I probably won't be able to crank it all the time because it will annoy my parents, ect.

So I want to get a overdrive pedal to play at practice/bedroom/lower volumes
Simple enough ... oh but which one?

I want to play Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Zeppelin and Aerosmith stuff but I also want to play higher gain music like Ozzy, Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, ect. Don't need death metal tones, or anything.

I really don't want to go above 100 dollars, so I want something that's pretty good and will last me a while.

and I play an Epiphone Les Paul standard

So I've been thinking about getting one of these:

Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer
Boss SD1
DigiTech Bad Monkey
Boss OS2 Overdrive/Dist
MXR Wylde Overdrive

I really have no idea what to choose. But again, I just want high enough gain at lower volume levels to play the following bands at the top.

If you guys could recommend something else better than what's listed and at a low price, that would be great too.

Thanks in advance.

Boss BD-2

It'll cover most of those bands.

You might want to look into distortion thougjh.
HEY
Do you like anime/manga?
PM me about buying the graphic novels I'm trying to sell

They each do something different dude.

Tube screamer for pushing the tubes to the breaking point, won't get a supreme nu-metal tone from it, but classic metal.

Sd-1 gets kurt cobain sounds when pushed.

Os-2 is a bit of a waste of money imo, I think the sound is crap. Personal taste of course.

The bad monkey is a cheaper and a bit more useful version of the tube screamer. Since it has a low and a high knob.

That mxr thing? Idk, never really heard much of it.
