sounds pretty awesome.. except for the "made breakfast" part..
Cooking is boring as hell imo. But when I do cook i just turn my stereo way up so I can hear whatever was playing on it in the kitchen.

What?! I seriously love cooking. As long as I'm doing at my house, and not working in some kitchen.

Sufjan Stevens, Owen Pallett aka Final Fantasy, Modest Mouse.
I think it also depends on what you're cooking.
If you're doing something messy and rustic, like something without measurements - Arcade Fire. Not saying anything bad about their music, just thought that songs like 'Wake Up' and other songs on 'Funeral' would get you in the right state of mind.

Coldplay, strangely.

I've cooked listening to "Viva la Vida" two or three times now.

It's pretty great.

That's a pretty good explanation. I'd probably have to be cooking some kind of sea food to listen to Modest Mouse. MM always reminds me of the ocean, and Puget Sound.

Definitely, especially (duh) We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. God, that's a long title.
I cook Mediterranean and French food to Beirut - the accordions and instruments. Especially 'Flying Club Cup', with all the French stuff scattered in it. 'Nantes' basically spews out French onion soup with a baguette and some stinky cheese.

Does anyone actually believe that music or singing to your food or plants or something makes it better/grow? I remember my friend's grandma used to always play classical music to her cakes...wtf?

Yes, my mom walked in on me getting my carrot skinned.

So I freaked out and flipped the vegetable tray.

There was ranch everywhere.

Well, I don't think music makes plants grow or anything. But maybe the music helped her get into an artistic state of mind and made sure everything was perfect. I'm not sure, but I'm sure it could affect you psychologically and make you more careful or something.
