I have an amp right now that has great cleans but very lacking in the metal department, and since I've improved and can actually handle a lot of metal songs, I enjoy playing metal a lot more. I can get away with selling my amp for around 550, so I guess my budget is anything around that price mark. I would prefer it to be tube, but I know that's kind of tough with my budget.

You don't know?

Yes. Bugeras are cheaper, and if you play mostly metal, you want the 6262, not the 333XL.

Don't even look at a B-52. Those are garbage.
Randall and Bugera are a good way to look.
Just go to a shop and try some shit out.
Check out what is used.

Are you smoking something? I'm just curious, because that is one of the dumbest things I've heard today. You didn't give any reason why, just "they're garbage".

The sound like garbage.
It's equivalent to Crate with me.
Just a different name.

Then you need to take time to dial it in. They're actually quite decent amps. Solid metal tone, and decent cleans. To say they sound like garbage doesn't make sense.

OH, and Crate makes great tube amps. Don't be ignorant and closed-minded.

I'm not being closed minded at all.
It's just all my opinion like yours and everyone elses.
I play in a metal band, i've tried all the equipment I talk about so I am just stating my opinion hoping it helps.

That's not a good way to state your opinion, it's exclusivist and closed-minded. You could have just said that you think B-52s are garbage. And for what it's worth, I listened to your band, and it could just be the recordings, but I think your tone sucks.

Haha, i'm not going to argue you there man.
We've done all our recordings ourselves.
And the other guitarist is a sound hog -_- so all you can hear is his crate.
And we are talking an old ass crate.
I am playing out of a Line 6 Spider II, hence why I want to upgrade to a 6505.

Randall RG50TC. Masses of gain for an affordable price with nice cleans. I've heard good stuff about Bugera, but the reliability seems bad.
#16
Bugera 6260 will get you what you want. It's actually a very nice amp if you can get over the Behringer connection.
#17
My B-52 is not garbage...Very versitale amp with a better than average clean channel and a searing gain channel. For the price a winner all around.

It's a debate that doesn't matter, but the Spider II is generally regarded as a much better amp than the III.
