How often do you play metal? I'd say get a Peavey Classic 30 with a Tubescreamer, should come to around $700.

Must you go new? You could save quite a bit of cash going used.

B-52 at112? it is 60 watts though. but the clean channel breaks up kinda early... but the breakup is really nice for blues. Granted i do run it with an attenuator and its cranked a lot of the time, heh

if you play mostly classic metal, then get a peavey classic 30 with a tubescreamer, but if it's more death/modern metal, get a randall rg50tc.

the classic 30's an amazing amp for everything.
