I need one song that accurately portrays their whole image. Something with some psychedelic keyboards, spacey and chill vocals, and smooth guitar solo. What song fits this description? Comfortably numb, perhaps?

Coming Back To Life.

My favorite song by them.
Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.

I can't stand taking Pink Floyd out of the album. The music is meant to be listened to as an album, not individual songs.

This thread is just proof pink floyd is the most mind blowing band of all time

everyones got a different answer to the question "which song shows all the angles of Pink floyd"
#28

I'd have to say all parts of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". I'm listening to it right now, and I believe it shows off everyone's talent.

Even Nick Mason's... Sort of.
When the music's over, turn out the lights.

So I had to take a massive dump, and I went in the bassment. So it's been down there for a while and the stench is terrible and i think it's seeping into the floor.

Should this go in the classic rock forum maybe?

Echoes

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (either part)

Interstellar Overdrive

Comfortably Numb

Dogs

Pigs

Atom Heart Mother

Time
I'd pick Echoes, mainly because it fits what you're looking for best.
#37
I think Shine On (both parts) would be your best bet.
First half is David Gilmour showing his guitar power, second is David Gilmour showing his slide guitar power then Rick showing his keyboard/synth skills. With Waters' lyrics it's pretty much everything Pink Floyd was about, every member contributing what they did best.

Nick Mason was ridiculously talented. His precision was spectacular.

as a drummer of 18 years i tend to disagree. he isnt rated by drummers generally. i wouldnt call 4/4 70bpm rock beats 'spectacular'. Buddy Rich is spectacular.

I meant in the sense that he didn't make mistakes and sounded great for the wide range of styles pink floyd played. I don't know you drummers and your terminology

edit: And yes, Buddy Rich is a f*cking beast.
