Okay, here's the deal. I am looking to buy a new guitar that can play nice and heavy, but also has a sweet clean sound. I am willing to spend up to like 900$. I have been looking at Schecters (have played a few and liked them), but their clean sound is kinda nasty. I'd like to be able to just buy a guitar and not deal with upgrading it within a month.

Help me out!

Try a Dean, I am completely satisfied with my guitar, although some of them have intimidating looks, they have some that actually sound quite good with a clean sound, in fact, some of my friends use Dean's for Jazz.

Listen to Ludo. Their guitarist uses a Dean. Depending on the song, you can hear some cleans, and you can decide if you like that.
