So I'm starting to gig but I'm finding a bit difficult to transpose the technique I have to playing standing up and in the higher frets I found that the palm of my hand gets "Stuck" on the arm of the guitar and i can't play the lower strings and I feel an overall difficulty playing standing up.
Any advice please?
Thanks in advance.

^indeed.

Move the guitar up until your arm is in the same position as when you're sitting

or

Practice more standing up.

Fix the strap, get your guitar closer to yourself.

yea, move it higher, but don't get it too close cause that looks gay. also just practice standing up and you should get used to it. i think it's harder to play sitting down cause i'm used to standing.

like everyone else said jsut move the strap up. and regardless of how high it is it wont look "gay." Shawn Lane always had his guitar super high and he was the greatest guitarist to ever live

dont listen to this bs dude... if you honestly have to wear the darn guitar up to your chin. music is about music not appearance... unless you're into rap, r/b or hiphop...

Fixed. (Nearly)

May i just correct you, that old school hip hop was not about the chains and the "hunnies".
And as far as "RnB" (Rhythm and blues) goes, thats just kinda wrong.

What they call RnB these days isnt actually RnB. Beyonce? RnB?

No.

music might not be about appearance, but music and girls go hand in hand, unless u look gay while you're playing. so technically it is gay because ur not getting any with a strap up to your chin

RnB really stands for rhythm and blues? Then I've misunderstood R&B for many years I guess.

1) Stand up with your guitar and have your 1st, 2nd, 3rd + 4th fingers on frets 12, 13, 14 + 15 respectively.
2) Adjust your strap until your forearm is parallel to the ground.
3) Recommence practicing.

In theory it does but as far as I'm concerned at least RnB and Rhythm and Blues are two completely different genres of music now.

I have the centre of my guitar just above my waist so my belts on the string panel. The higher your guitar is the easy you will find it to play from sitting down (IMO) start with it highish then it will slack of with out you noticing. Then you find a comfortable position.

Well the whole posture is different when you are playing sitting down you need to practice both ways and if you do it will come naturally just keep practicing
