Right, I'm curious to know if any of you UGers have clubbed thumbs? ..Or even know what they are?

This is wikipedia's description of them:

A clubbed thumb is a term used to describe the genetic clubbing of one or both thumbs. It is characterized by a particularly short thumb that is round in section and bulbous at the end.[1] The thumb nail is very wide and short. The scientific term for clubbed thumb is Brachydactyly type D or "BDD".[2]

They're also apparently a lot more common in girls, and about 1 in 1000 people have them, some have 2 and some only have 1.

I have clubbed thumbs..they're pretty annoying, they look weird and they make fingerpicking more difficult!

Yeah..I'll put up a poll, if I can work out how. Sorry if this thread is lame, it's my first one

Nope.
Quite a few girls I know have them though, and they're so weird looking, totally strange and disconcerting.
Never seen a guy with them
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.
Let me in for a minute, you're not my life but I want you in it

I know a guy who has that on all of his fingers and is still a pianist.

He has really ****ed up hands.

I noticed that in a few girls, it's kind of weird, it bothers me that the thumbs aren't similar...

Eww, that sounds pretty bad.

One of my friends recently noticed them and has started calling me Toe Thumbs

no clubbed thumb here. Shouldnt affect you too much, there's a youtube video of a guy playing with one arm... where there is a will, there is a road hungry to dissapoint and destroy you. Make use of suffering.

Lol, there's a guitarist on youtube with no arms. And I wouldn't really compare that to clubbed thumbs, they don't exactly make people suffer..i was just curious

A friend of mine has them on both thumbs and strangely, both his big toes. It's strange and we make jokes about it all the time. Proves no problem with him playing bass though.
#31
Nope I don't.
My cousin does, and he plays fairly well.
Otherwise, get that shit outta here!
