So I wrote a song based on the Divine Comedy. It contains lots of references to specific scenes from the epic, however this one only follows Inferno... I might do Purgatorio and Paradiso but they aren't as interesting... anyway here's the song:

I wish I could see
More than suicidals trapped in trees.
Virgil, where are you taking me?
Are we going to the bottom of this hole?

Towards Judas Iscariot,
Brutus and his friend Cassius,
In the frozen water there for us,
In Devil’s mouth, god save these broken souls

But do they deserve it,
Icy tears from their eyes?
Do you believe in second chances,
We all **** up sometimes.

Lovers in the wind
Without control, we’re forsaken
Until there’s a revelation
Where we’ll finally see salvation

Passing into abyss
Past the guarded city walls of Dis
Live the blasphemers and heretics
Down forever, never to be saved.

But do they deserve it,
Icy tears from their eyes?
Do you believe in second chances,
We all **** up sometimes.

We’re only human.

great stuff. The inferno definitely was the best of the 3. the only line I had any problems with was "Damned forever, never to be saved" it's a fine line, it just seemed to interupt the flow a little bit, and not in a purposful manner. but all in all I really enjoyed it
