Dude are you ****ing kidding?

Seriously: Check out some Marilyn Manson songs for political themes, though some might be too vulgar. Also System of a Down or Serj Tankian's Elect the Dead album contains political stuff.

I think Civil War by Guns N' Roses would be a good choice. Symphony of Destruction or Peace Sells by Megadeth. Pretty much anything from And Justice For All By Metallica. Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols.

1978 "So What?" - Crass

Heres some of the lyrics,"So what if jesus died on the cross? So what about that fucker? I dont give a toss. So what if your master walked on the water? Dont see him try and stop the slaughter."

But since youre obviously not gonna play that then maybe try;

1979 - "London Calling" - The Clash (about WW2)
1982 - "Rock the Casbah" - The Clash (about rock music banned in Iran)

Thats about all I can think of right now that isnt offensive in some way. I mean sure theres lots of Dead Kennedys songs i could give you but most if not all of them could be deemed offensive and not fit for a school class.

60s
My Generation - The Who
Machine Gun - Jimi Hendrix
House Burning Down - Jimi Hendrix (I think that's the name)
'69 Woodstock National Anthem - Jimi Hendrix

=D

1980s - Sign 'O' The Times - Prince

Reflects on the time it was written, so it's historical now.

This.

It expresses how they are angry with how oppressive the U.S Government is with its people, and why we need to start a rebellion in order to restore peace to the nation.

(S)He's teaching a unit on poetry using rock music, sounds like a pretty cool teacher to me. And this actually doesn't involve giving work, this involves giving the teacher an excuse to play music during class.

On topic, I don't think I can come up with anything right now, sorry.

EDIT: *cough*You're an asshat*cough* What? Who said that?

This assignment involves re teaching Poetry theme, mood, Point of View, and Plot. I can't wait to play music in class for my students and the best part is...NO HOMEWORK for this unit.

BTW...I'm a dude.
