Define Alternative.

Like Modest Mouse alternative, or Bullet for My Valentine alternative?

Either way, be sure to use something from The Cure. A sloshy love mixtape without AT LEAST one Cure song is a job poorly done.
#17
Fill it with trance music. Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, 1200 Micrograms, etc.

Peaches and Cream ftw

Peaches and Cream is about his daughter. Redo Daniella with a different title/lyrics, or do Losing you. Or Iron and Wine's cover of Such Great Heights.

It's about his daughter and his wife. But it's just the message of seeing things differently with something good in your life which is what I was getting at with the suggestion.

Bright Eyes - A Perfect Sonnet, or Lua, or, you know, a happy one

Cool, but I was thinking specifically of the line "You and your mum in front of me", which might come off in the wrong context.

Also, I didn't know you were a fan, did you see him in Liverpool last year?

Well, Boys Don't Cry isn't exactly what I'd call a love song, so that leaves JLH and Friday. JLH is a personal favorite of mine for the purpose of wooing the lady friends, but if you'd prefer to be less conventional, Friday I'm in Love is another solid choice.

if her name happens to be Sherry Fraser, then do "Sherry Fraser" by Marcy Playground.
