If im going to have a decent rack setup, will I need a power condintioner, or is it only for international use i.e. different voltages?

A power conditioner is really just a glorified plug strip. You are going to need one for a rack so you can plug your equipment into it. After all of your stuff is plugged into it, all you have to do is plug in the power conditioner to a wall or something, it's real convenient. You don't really need a high end voltage changing conditioner.

I have been using the base model Furman conditioner for 9 months. No problems whatsoever, it was like, 50 bucks or so new.

The Furman PL-Plus is the industry standard power conditioner. I've used one for the past two years and it does the job.
