I have one that just collects dust. I'll learn to play it eventually, but as of right now it's more of a toy than anything else. I'm going to give you a solid maybe.

playing the mandolin increases your guitar playing exponentially. it's very similar to the guitar but has litttle intracisies that will improve speed and technique on guitar.

its tuned like a reverse tuning on the guitar, GDAE. is that what makes it helpful to guitar playing? i'd have thought it would just make things confusing.
