The Marshall MB series and the Ampeh BA series is frowned upon on this forum.

i havent had any experiance with them myself though.

Also, are you sure them amps will have enough power? if he wishes to get heard people suggest that the bassist has 3 times the wattage of the guitarist/(s)

EDIT: oh and some-one will enevitably suggestion ashdown as an alternative to your choices, so have a look at them.

Sorry i did not realise. I will try to speak properly rather than using slang terms from now onwards.

What genre of music does your band play?
How many people are in it?
What instrument do they all play?

well generally the two main things you need for metal/rock with bass if power (wattage) and low end to back up the rest of the band. A good amp for this situation would be an Ashdown MAG. It is quite cheap, it is powerful, and it has a good low end.

EDIT: do you have a price range in mind?

a good site to buy gear from is thomann.de based in germany if you live in europe.

does it have to be a combo?

most combo's wont have enough power for what you need.

Out of those, the Warwick for sure. I use the 15.1, and love it to bits. However, before someone else says it, I will point out that the Ashdown MAG 300 is only a bit more, and is very popular.

I have grown to like the Marshall a little.but I admit that the Warwick is a great amp. go for it.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

The warwick is a good, one for sure.

Also check out the Acoustic line of amps, as well as Peavey's smaller amps. Good value on those.
Nope, no sig here.

i have a warwick 15.2, love the graphic EQ. It's a very deep, rounded tone though, so if that's not your thing don't buy it. As the other ones I've had little experience with either, but I do know marshall notoriously make terrible bass amps.
