Amp suggestions for SRV/Hendrix sound?

So basically I'm looking for opinions on the tele and an amp for a clean/overdrive tone, would a strat be better for the clean/blues overdrive sound I'm looking for?

Strats would be better. Teles have a very thin, twangy bridge pickup, which is used more for country and very clean stuff. Strats have a more versatile pickup configuration, and the neck pickup on strats is really good for blues.

my mate has the 52 tele reissue.

personally I don't like the way the neck plays. I can't pinpoint exactly what's wrong with it, it just didn't seem to play well. sounds great though.

Yeah. people, like Lemoninfluence, are hypocrites and should have all their opinions invalidated from here on out.

Particularly looking at this one, cheap and looks beautiful, would the pickups need a change? what is the difference between this and a £1000 strat?

the vintage 52's a great tele; that and the hot rodded version are really sweet.
