Irocnic part? Back then Squier was made in Japan and would later be renamed Fender Japan, wich means quality was TOP NOTCH!

I say it's a fair trade, American Fender from the early 80's (before CBS sold it) are generally not very high regarded actually...

Ah OK. I think I'll go for it anyway (As long as my uncle is still OK with the trade). It plays well and sounds pretty good, it just needs to be fixed up a little. The tuners are a little rusty but i have some spares lying around and it could do with some new strings.

Plus there's a big sale this weekend so i may just get a new amp anyway.

Still... It would be good to know approximately how much it is actually worth. From what you guys have said i would guess more than $300, less that $1000.

Mate they sell in the uk for around £260 - £300 I sold an original 1981 myself for around that price. I have not seen a deluxe one. I imagine they go for more.
You need to know the year it was made, the serial number and the condition.

Is it a Bullit or is it a Telecaster?

The trade sounds about even. Those are pretty decent guitars.

Its a bullet telecaster...

I think its far better than even. a guitar worth 300 pounds for a keyboard worth $300 Australian.

I don't think he means a computer typing keyboard
Sounds like a great deal; I'd got for it unless your real passion is to play the keys. :P

Well from some ebay links my guess is its worth over $800 Australian which is actually pretty good for a $300 keyboard.

The early/mid eighties fenders are some strange guitars. I have a lefty elite. And when I see one for sale they are getting 900 or more for em. But they didnt make many and most wont turn loose of em when they do have em.

Keyboards suck ass, i'd trade for a squire tbf
Kit:

Tanglewood TW28STR
PRS Soapbar SE II
Epiphone LP100

Roland Cube 30x (New!)
