Right now I'm building my own bass and I've decided on using a pj pup set but I haven't settled on which brand to use. I also wont ever get a chance to test any. I mainly play funk, rock, and r&b. Versatility is a huge plus because I also tend to play many other genres. Since this is also my first build I'm taking the electronics fairly simply and doing a volume for each pickup and a master tone if that matters at all.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.
