my xbox-360 is in my basement. my computer is upstairs. there are no internet jacks or anything in my basement. and my router and all that stuff is upstairs.

question: what would be the best way to hook up my xbox to the internet?

You have a choice:

Get a wireless router, then buy a wireless adaptor for the xbox and connect em up.
Or buy a giant wire and connect it from the xbox to the router.

you're probably going to need a long cord.

youll get a more reliable connection with a long cable, but just getting a wireless adapter and a wireless router is way easier, its what i do and it works great

the more cost efficient way would be to get a long cord, but the wireless way is easier.

Ethernet cable.

Don't bother running it under carpet or anything, just tell people to watch their step

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

a long internet/ethernet(witchever one xbox has) cable?

so if i did this, would i have to just run it up through the wall?

which i will probably do because i know the wireless thing for the xbox alone cost about $100

how much would it cost to switch to a wireless router as well?

When I was connecting my Wii i had to buy a 15m cable, so i guess all you need is a longer cord.

Get a ethernet cable like people said. It's the cheapest solution, most reliable, easy to install, blablabla

thanks everyone i know most of my questions have been answered and i am definately going to get a long cord, but one more

do you propose it would be better to run the chord through the floor/ceiling (i'm guessing i would have to drill my own hole for this), or run a cord (from my computer room, through the kitchen, down the stairs, and across the basement to the tv/xbox)
