i already know the minor and mayor scales and most modes, but when i try to compose something i always end up with some chord progression and/or a bunch of notes from some scale... but it never sounds interesting; it sounds boring. i wonder what is the next step cause the one i am right now is not pleasing me. anything to say? any link that'd lead me somewhere? please?

Because different people think different things sound good, the best way to brush up on your composing is to study songs you really like and try to figure out why you like them. For a beginning composer, maybe take a chord progression from one of your favourite songs and work on making a melody for it or whatever. The more you compose, the better you get, trust me!
