I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom for a guitar, and I know the tuners and bridge obviously aren't pure gold, but there's some type of rust or build up on the tuners and bridge, particularly the tuners, and it kinda smells.

I know it isn't sweat, cause that would come off with water, or just with time right? I bought it used, idk what it could be, but if it were dangerous I'd probably be dead by now.

I've tried a lot of remedies (tire cleaner, just water, household cleaner) and they don't seem to work, any ideas?

I've never smoked before but it looks like fun.

Wipe it off after you play. For cleaning, sue WD40/3-36 and qtips or cotton clothe. Just don't get any on the guitar finish.

OXY CLEAN/?

lmfao

the tuners might be leaking grease or something, that could be the smell, and the rust might just be from the humidity. Do you live in a hot place by the ocean or something?
