Hey when I am picking, quite often my right index fingers lowest knuckle rubs on the string below the one I am picking.

Whats wrong with my grip.

I hold the pick quite away round my index.

Try to hold the pick with the tips of your thumb and index, also try not to angle your wrist too much toward the floor
Hope i helped abit mate

arent you spose to wrap the pick slightly round to the side of your index

I used to have the same problem, now I pick the wrong way and it's working wonderfully for me.
Gear:
-A Guitar
-A Bass Guitar
AND...
-amps for BOTH of them!!

(who cares?)

for a start, rest the curvature of your palm on your guitar's bridge and twist your wrist sideways to pick. erm that worked for me....cos my pinky used to strike the strings below the ones i was picking.
