Ok, so i got myself an ibanez rg370dx last Cristmas, which means i have had it for nearly a year. Now, i'm not ready to paint it or scratch anything into it, but does anyone here have any suggestions about customizing or modding guitars which can easily be reversed? If you have done anything like this let me know what you have done, and post pics where possible.
(btw, it's just for the looks, I don't need any new pickups or anything yet).

Thanks in advance.

^^^ thats the one. I was considering geting new knobs etc. (chrome) anything to stop it looking so plain. It's nearly invisible when I play it on stage!!!

also getting a new pickguard would involve drilling holes in the body.

you could also have a pickguard made for it, there's a guy on ebay who made one for me and it came out pretty well. you could get a white pearl guard, with black knobs capped with pearl?? a rg 350 guard should fit yours, but i'm not 100% positive on that.

not true about the holes, you can use some decent double-sided tape and you'd be good to go.

New pickups. Most ibanez guitars are beautiful for their price ranges, minus the pickups.

Get a pair of pink Dimarzio X2Ns

I'd recommend a Swap of the trem to a Gotoh Floyd rose as it's better.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

You can pretty much replace any peice of hardware and electronics non permanently.

and a refinish is arguably non permanent.

The only thing you cant reverse is a constructional thing e.g. chopping off a horn for t3h lulz or something

So why do you not want to even make new screw holes in it? Parents are guitar nazis? You're a guitar nazi?

(Both for me)...

Hey, my parents won't let me take a control cavity cover off - they think that'll break it.

Knobs, pickup covers, bridge, tuners.

Switch 'em out to whatever colour you want.

1. get rid of the edge III
2. replace knobs
3. put pickup covers on
4. have everything you replace be gold

Start tearing your guitar apart in your living room, and video tape their reactions. Then post the video here.

okay,
1) im not replacing the trem (too much hard work and too expensive to get an original floyd).
2) i've already picked new knobs (fourth one down and the black ones with the silver top
http://www.axetec.co.uk/axetec%20guitar%20parts%20spares%20pickups_027.htm
3) either a chrome pickguard or these
http://www.allparts.com/store/pickup-covers-rings-parts-pickup-rings-pc-5436-010,Product.asp
4) I like chrome XP
5) keep all the ideas coming!
6) refer to four!

I just don't like the thought of chopping my beautiful guitar to pieces... yeah, and my parents wont let me lol
