a shortage wouldn't explain anything. it's not like he changes them every time he changes strings.

3)make fun of Rancid and NOFX again

On MF, Mick Thomson's sig still has EMGs.

His pick-up is the EMG 81.

Not the HZ, found in the Alexi-200.

He used HZ's live for a very long time, with an EMG Afterburner if I'm not mistaken is what it said in the rig profile he had in Guitar World long ago, but it doesn't surprise me if he switched to the "legit" EMG's, I don't see why he wouldn't.
I have no idea if he dropped black-outs though, but that's commercialization and endorsements for you, who-ever brings in the $.

Yep. I'm really hoping his custom pup will be active, just like the 81 but with a bit more mids, but not as much as the blackouts. After playing a MT sig the blackouts overdo it, for me atleast. I'd like a steady balance, although the Blackouts a bit more natural.

He has always been with EMG. Using the HZs too.

If you check all the pictures of the different guitars, he uses different HZs on all of them. I know the white scythe uses the HZ4 and the Pink Sawtooth used to be a HZ4.

As far as I was aware, he was never really an endorsee of EMG or SD. I know that he had the Blackout in the pink sawtooth and that was it. The rest of the guitars had EMGs.

he appeared in Seymour Duncan ads so he was endorsing them. I honestly believe that the Jackson RR24 is not only a better guitar for playing CHildren of Bodom stuff (he recorded his best albums on one) but its just an overall better guitar, id strongly suggest getting one of those over an Alexi 600.

Was alexi using the 1200 dolar jackson rr24 before? or a better version of it?

He was using a custom shop Jackson (handmade and probably over $4,000), with a Jackson pup and gain boost, alder body, maple bolt-on neck, and rosewood fretboard. He never recorded anything with an RR24. The RR24 is loosely based on a sig for him a roope that was supposed to release in America, but he left for ESP before it was done.
