Hey, I've got a Schecter Damien 7, and I'm getting tired of my Vox AD30VT, looking for a new amp, preferably with lots of gain. My budget is under $500.

I play metal 80% of the time, and I'm looking for something with more gain than my vox, preferably not a modelling amp, but not over 75 watts and not under 30 watts. I don't do gigs, i just play with friends, if that helps. Also, i'm not looking to buy a blues/classic rock amp just to have to buy a Metal Muff to get the sound i want, i want an amp made for metal.

Hopefully I've been descriptive enough :P
care to help?

This, except a VK needs more than that to do modern metal... you'll also need an overdrive pedal, several patch cables, etc. to get a true modern sound.

If you're just playing thrash then it'll be okay.

Also look into a used B-52 AT112 - at that price range you're actually just under some very decent new tube amps.

This. Although I'm a bit skeptical about the VK, but the others are all definitely fantastic. An extra +1 to the Ultra.
