I think it's just the way you have to stretch your hand because of the way the guitar is sitting... like, flat.

yeah, your guitar is at the wrong angle, causing you to bend your hand much more. what looks like your hand is really like part of your wrist or something that's getting stretched to form what looks like a giant hand.
