If you can afford that, you're most certainly not broke...

Before people start flaming it without even knowing what they're talking about, the Spider Valve is a good amp, extremely versatile, but for most cases, there's better for the price.

What's your max price range?
What do you have now (guitar/amp)?
What genres do you mainly play?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

well i have the combo version so from experience i do have to say that it is a rather monstrous amp if you crank it. Some really good metal tones & the cleans are great as well. I dont really do much in between but the amp defintely can so i would recommend it. Then again, seeing as i managed to get it second hand, im not sure id pay full price for it..still an incredibly versatile amp if thats what your after

800 bucks isnt what most would call broke when buying an amp. Question is do you need 100 watts of tubes? And does it need to be a modeller? Seems a bit pointless to go tube then put a modeller in the preamp.
