Which is a better pedal the digitech death metal distortion or the boss metal core pedal. The boss costs twice as much, Is it any better?

The Boss is better. This thread will be full of "both suck get a ______" in an hour.

There are no genres in metal that end with "core."

Seriously, I'd say buy anything except the metal master, I'm not against digitech or anything, but I had it and the sound seems like your amp is on the other side of a door.
Also maybe consider the DF-7 I find it quite nice and I don't think it's higher priced than the metal core

The metal core has a fuller sound, bu tthe death metal has more fizzy or chuggy depending on the EQ. just get the friggin metal core. SO much better
