I effing love Rainbow, they made some of the best songs of the 70's, however, they are not metal, and thus, do not belong here (pretty sure they have a thread in the CR forum anyways). Regardless though, Dio-era Rainbow is amazing.

look into it, a large majority of people and groups and companies regard this band as metal...in the 70s man this shit was crossing every line possible

it seemed to still hold its metal status even now, i agree 100%

Temple Of The King = one of the most epic songs ever

I absolutely love Rainbow

I agree.
"Ultimate"-Guitar is the worst website on the internet. Polluted with unintelligent mongoloids.

Raindow rock.

Kill the King and L.A. Connection were always fun songs to play when I was more a guitar and metal noob.

Dunno if they belong here, but meh.

Their second and third albums are undoubtedly heavy metal, I don't see how anybody can dispute that. Especialy since power metal owes itself entirely to the second side of Rising.

Anything after Dio left is cack, however.

Since You've Been Gone \m/

Yeah... not really Metal...

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Rainbow Rising is just... so awesome. Stargazer and A Light in the Black are supreme.

I really like the song "I Remember", awesome piece of 80's pop rock/metal

Apart from that, not a fan of their post-Dio material, Since You've Been Gone has got really old and boring to me

Since You've Been Gone can still be an amazing song if you listen to it in the right mood.

I just don't really like Graham Bonnet, although Alcatrazz were pretty good

Joe Lynn Turner is an awesome vocalist, just that the Rainbow albums with him aren't very good compared to the amazing quality of the albums with Dio

Understandable.

I got a couple of Greatest Hits as my first two Rainbow CDs years ago, as a starting point. And everything on them still tends to be among my favourite Rainbow songs.
