Tell me, how is playing the mandolin different from playing guitar? Would it be very difficult to switch over?

They have mandolin tabbed for most of the Led Zeppelin mandolin songs. (Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Gallows Pole ect.)

lol, speaking of him...

it's the same concept, i mean it's really not that different, just think about it. different style, of course, but generally the same "concept" if you catch my drift

different tuning (GDAE), smaller frets, smaller size in general, and paired strings are the main differences. since its tuned differently the chord structures and different too, so...

Yeah, I can play mandolin.

It's just violin, but with frets and played like a guitar, so that idiots can learn it too.

it's not too hard to switch over, but it is harder.

I don't have any other mandolin resources, but www.thesession.org has thousands of traditional tunes in ABC and standard notation. Might be worth having a look at if that's what you're into.

I play, but I don't know any sites.

It's smaller, the strings are tuned slightly differently. The frets and strings are much closer together.

It doesn't matter how close the frets are together, they work exactly the same. Frets are just a way to play a string instrument without having to have any sense of intonation.

the battle of evermore tab is wrong at the beginning, the 22....11...00....11 thing should be on the D string not G string. just a warning...

That's a point, but I find fretting two strings at the same fret with different fingers to be quite a challenge, and I find half bars, with a bottom open string, very painful.

he was stating the differences between mando and guitar, and why it takes a little while to get used to mandolin. sure they work exactly the same, doesnt mean it's the same to play.

Ok then, thanks for the info. I just saw some mandolins at a music store. I wanted to put my hands on it but it was scary because I didn't know anything about it.
