If i bought the 200 dollar Peavey 30w, do you think one of the guitar techs would be willing to check out my guitar for free? Do they do it for free anyways, just look it over? If it helps, i bought it at the same GC.

I dont think so. Unless u just bought the guitar brand new and the tech (or whatever u call them) is nice enough to give u a free set up. I get my set up free anyway, off the book of course, no paper involve cause the tech guy say he like to help me out.

I am not sure if GC even set up guitar or not

I dont want him to set it up, just to look at it and check out some things.

Such as: action height; ie does the truss need adjusting, some bridge stuff, humbucker height, and possibly get a middle string-lock screw that has the same hole size as the rest, instead of smaller.

look around on UG and youtube and try to set it up better yourself, if things go horribly wrong, then resort to getting it professionally set up.

I got my first floyd bridged guitar last Tuesday and after a bit of research and effort I can't see why everybody complains about the effort it takes to set them up, when it saves you money that you (i) can spend on subscriptions (to porn mags)....

My FR is fine. It just seems like a few things could be changed a bit to make it even better.

EDIT: Well, thats not COMPLETELY true. the hole where the tremolo bar screw goes is stripped, so im going to have them look at it and see what they can do.

just pay them to look at it then. Unless the amp you are going to buy is a Peavey vyper i wouldn't waste money on it in the hopes that they will look at my guitar for free

a strap for free is a bit different to having a professional spend his time looking over your guitar though

True enough. AND i'm using a 10 percent coupon...eh, i'll try anyways. If anything, i'll see if i can get the middle screw for free, since it really should have been the same size as the rest when i bought it.
