I'm getting a new amp head. I either want a Vox AC30 or AC50. Is the AC30 going to be plenty loud to play over a really loud drummer, or should i get the AC50 to be safe? i play punk, indie, and classic rock.

Isn't the AC50 supposed to be their metal orientated model?

If it is, then I'd go for the AC30, because you'd still be fine.

Old enough to yell rape.

Two completely different amps.

The AC30 is a tone beast, but it lacks a bit of versatility that the AC50CPH or CP combo has.

I'd say more hard rock.

It's very versatile from the clips I've heard.

i agree with the guy who said its a tonebeast, i disagree about the versatility.

buy the ac30, more than enough to gig with or practice.

This guy has it right.

Basically, if you're looking for that classic Vox tone, get the AC30, but if you want to play anything remotely high gain without a pedal, go for the AC50.

Both great amps though.
