Hey guys. I work at a Pawn Shop and we have a Marshall halfstack, JCM 2000 head and a 1960 cab. It doesn't get played too much because it gets a little loud for a small store. However, recently I've been trying to play it a little, but when I turn it on, no sound comes out. I've check the connection to the cab and I can't for the life of me figure out exactly what's wrong.

The problem is I play a solidstate and I'm pretty tubeally retarded. I'm guessing a tube (or all) could be out, but I honestly have no idea. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I could figure this out?

Thanks in advance.

sounds like the power tubes have died...

btw, i wish i could find a JCM2000 at my pawn shop.
If i were you, i'd hide that baby in the back 'till i could afford to buy it, hahaha.

Also, which JCM2000 is it? DSL or TSL?

buy it and take it to a music store...

No, just take it home... as a little "workers' discount."

....seriously.....

Trust me, I want it badly, however, I'm only a lowly pawn shop clerk.

It IS a DSL. How would I go about changing/buying tubes and what tubes should I get?

Dude, I wouldn't fix it until you had the coin to buy it.

And swapping with some Tung Sol EL34's would do the trick. You'd probably want to swap the pre tubes too.

The problem is that we have to show it works, so we have to fix it to sell it. What would be the best way of getting tubes, do guitar stores have them?

eh... it really depends on the store.
Just call some local stores and ask.

If not, there's a few sites that sell tubes.
MF sells tubes, too.
...and zZounds, if i'm not mistaken.
