-"And that, I think, was the handle---that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting---on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark---the place where the wave finally broke and rolled back."
-Raul Duke, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

That is the America, gentlemen.

We've been living on borrowed time; borrowed money. We've been riding the proverbial wave of the American dream. Now the wave is finally breaking and rolling back.

It was fun while it lasted.

It's an odd feeling realizing that our entire lifestyle -- everything that we believe is concrete and righteous; everything we uphold as true and just; all our values and ideals -- are fading before our eyes.

My fellow Americans and the rest of the free world, it's been a good run.
And I mean that in the best possible way.

Haha, you're fucked now, eh?

EDIT: Are we supposed to discuss the current economical crisis? Or did you just want to share your apocalyptical view? Give us a hint, man!

I think everyone forgot that what goes up must eventually come down...

Yea, Sublime is a great band. You have an Underoath icon, so I think your opinion doesn't matter.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume our way of life has ended just yet. If things keep going the way they are, then perhaps...but things could still turn around.

I cant really put into words the impression that that movie made on me. Im sure it would have been WAY different had i been sober.

I've seen it many times, blazed and unblazed.

It's my all time favorite movie. It's brilliant depiction of 20th century life. It summarizes the entire drug experience perfectly, as well as the American way of life.

Despite our culture's distaste for drugs, the drug lifestyle and the American lifestyle are ironically similar.
And I mean that in the best possible way.
