I searched for a thread of the same topic but found nothing.
I am a bit of a beginner at screaming but can manage to make the sounds and use different notes. The problem i have is trying to find a song that is easy to scream to, i have tried some IKTPQ songs and the lyrics makes my scream sound very 'breathy'. Any songs that are good to start at?

First things that come to mind are Writing on the Walls by Underoath, or A Reason for Broken Wings by A Skylit Drive, or Ex Machina by A Skylit Drive, or maybe Higinia by Blessthefall. Those seem pretty simple lyric-wise, altho Spencer from Underoath has a pretty wide scream range.

I agree, get some red shore stuff
SHE walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

You don't scream along with songs to learn how to scream, you learn how to scream on your own.

This, but try some Winds of Plague, After the Burial, The Faceless, Veil of Maya...any deathcore really.

Nice PC plug.

But yea, the screams in these bands are a different style, but definitely something to go for.

Parkway Drive, BFMV, Trivium

All these go soft on your voice. Even damn hawthorne heights is good, all go soft on your voice and flow through nicely.

I scream with Atreyu, Underoath, and (not hardcore) The Used, mostly. I'll scream while listening to Trivium time to time as well.

I scream with everything this guy said (good choices btw dude).

Some of my favorites to scream to lately are-

Waking The Demon - Bullet For My Valentine
The Air That I Breathe - All That Remains
Sixpounder - Children Of Bodom
Entombment Of A Machine (just because it's so insane) - Job For A Cowboy

I usually scream to Underoath and Between the Buried and Me, but now I'm starting to attempt stuff more like Protest the Hero and even The Fall of Troy. Thomas Erak's voice is hella hard!

Anyways, favorite songs to scream to:

Underoath - Returning Empty Handed
Underoath - Down, Set, Go
Underoath - Breathing In A New Mentality
Between the Buried and Me - Ants of the Sky
Between the Buried and Me - Alaska
Protest the Hero - Sequoia Throne
The Fall of Troy - Shh!!! If You're Quiet I'll Show You A Dinosaur...

If people weren't lame, they'd realize that they should only be screaming to ACxDC songs.

Anything from Underoath's "They're Only Chasing Safety". This album is perfectly described as a "scream-along"
Does being successful truly make you a sell out? Can't you do your own original music and be successful because of it?

If people weren't lame they'd have stopped listening to metal by the late 70's.

If people weren't so lame, they'd have realized that ACxDC is not metal. However, they still aren't very good.

ACxDC= Anti-Christ Demon Core, a powerviolence band.

AC DC= A mediocre (albeit influential) rock band

Stop listening to Underoath and pull your head out of your ass.

i was kind of hoping you would have had to explain it...
i had more faith in the forum than i should have, i guess..

reading those posts were good for a laugh

i wonder if the acoustics inside your ass actually make underoath sound good...

It's almost depressing that I had to explain myself. I can only hope the acoustics inside ones ass are good, albeit my expectations are low. I can assure you that if my head is lodged firmly in my ass, Underoath still sounds... ****ty.

I would like to know WTF a ACDC fan is doing in the hardcore forum

My answer depends on how good you are at screaming

If you're, a pro/very good, Parkway Drive, JFAC, that kinda thing

If your beginning, Atreyu or AILD (before you flame, listen!! There isnt much variation in the screams, why a lot of people hate them, so its good to start with!!)

Actually, I perform low PWD/JFAC/KSE screams better than higher screams, like Atreyu or A7X...their songs tend to be more difficult to scream to for me. Many people just have a different niches for screaming, whether it be highs, lows, growling, inhales, etc.

I would like to know what an Atreyu fan is doing in the hardcore forum (I too am confused). Anyways, it's not the same AC DC you stupid bastard.

ACxDC= Anti-Christ Demon Core, a powerviolence band.

AC DC= A mediocre (albeit influential) rock band

I can't believe I had to explain this twice.

Good point, I guess it depends kinda on how deep your voice is naturally, I suppose...

Oops, sorry...

Also, when I made this account I had just discovered Atreyu, and thought they were great, but now I can see that they're not that great at all...

In the past: Atreyu, BFMV, and KSE

Now: Underoath, BMTH, August Burns Red, blessthefall, and BTBAM who I think has one of the best vocalists in the scene right now. He's got an amazing range and great clean vocals too
